Thoughts: 1) WOW. Elaborate. 2) Amazing graphics! 3) To be honest, was hoping for a little less of Josh digging in that same hole (HAHA, I see stairs xD) and more focus on the other members...I didn't even spot Taylor. 3) Woah, that ending. Didn't see that come to a blatent end. 4) A little too much yellow...makes it hard to see anything real clearly.... But then that's probably their point. 5) I can see why Hayley said it's probably their best video yet.
Verdict: LOVE IT! Great storyline for it. Makes me super excited about them coming to NZ :D
currently: just finished watching Kyle XY. I don't know how I feel about Jessi and Kyle together...but they are sorta clone pod babies. Makes me wonder if they have children...would they be all superhuman babies too? And would they have bellybuttons?
What I should have been doing:
Studying for media scholarship.
What I did do today.
I got bored...so I got out the duraseal (its what people use to cover their books which is all sticky and you get them in rolls or sheets...I don't know what the proper name is...) and cut out shapes etc to put on my laptop cover. After I saw my boyfriend's laptop cover (which was all black and sleek and fancy...) I felt the need to spice mine up a bit. Just to feel a little cooler.
I don't feel any cooler, but at least it was fun to stick. And protects parts of it from scratches. xD
So hey, arts and crafts your laptop covers. All you need is duraseal and a cool design. And a pair of scissors. :P
currently: listening to Brick by Boring Brick by Paramore
I'm quite excited by this video. I love full concept videos like this, ones that are all arty and stuff. This is why (to be very honest) I was let down by the 'Mess of Me' Switchfoot video. I mean don't get me wrong, I love those boys like anything. And the video is constructed and edited really well, suiting the song because of it's raw guitar noises and energy that is really powerful in their concert footage...But complete performance based music videos aren't as fun. Even Meant to Live (not the Roxy concert version) wasn't like this. And another reason why I ADORE the Stars and We Are One Tonight video (which I absolutely love for it's editing). And I mean the Stars video was how I got into Switchfoot in the first place.(Boys floating about underwater? Win.)
Even Oh! Gravity which is effectively, just them performing, has the special effects of green screens and stuff.
But yeah, getting off track...I can't wait till this video is released. And hopefully it will release about the same time as Paramore's concert dates in New Zealand 2010 (which The Edge have said will be in both Auckland and Christchurch like I predicted), that which will be found out Wednesday 25th if you sign up for the email, or Thursday 26th Nov. Getting excited!
It's just the matter of waiting for the days to come. Speaking of which, Thursday is my next scholarship exam, which I probably should be studying for...stupid NCEA.
currently: endorses SOUR WORMS. >> I think they're the answer to all study problems. Cause the more sour they are, the more awake you can feel. More awake you are, more you concentrate and are able to pass NCEA. Sour worms are like Coke, except in more colours. They make studying more fun =D
So if you're wondering, here is more news on the Paramore front. C4TV say that if you sign up as a VIP, you'll get the info first. There are also ads on tv. All this...but no date. It's definitely trying to bring a lot of hype. All you have to do is read the comments on the C4TV page to see how crazy people are going.
I won't be excited until I know for sure that they are coming. (And that I can get tickets...)
On a side note, got a new haircut. It's caused me to keep looking in the mirror at the different styles I can put my hair in now. Some people could see this as a little weird. But it's like "I have new hair. What can I do with it?" Much like when you get a new car (not that I've ever had a car), or a new cellphone (I've got that.) and you look at all the functions, press all the buttons, exploring this new phone/car/hairstyle. New hairstyles are weird too. It's "Not natural" since I haven't had hair like this since...a while ahha.
Anyway, I'm still in the middle of exams and studying. Probs should get back to that.
Fingers crossed that all Paramore dates will be announced Monday!
So, there are rumours that my favourite (previously) carrot-top singer, and her four fella bandmates, are making their way to New Zealand for a concert in March 2010. Apparently the radio station "The Edge" are sponsoring (though they haven't mentioned a single thing), and Creme Magazine have said that they're definitely coming.
From what I can gather, Paramore would have to be coming after their Australian tour which ends in Perth March 1st. So sometime between March 2nd and March 13th (which is the Lady Gaga concert in Vector) may be concert date, my bets might be 3rd of March 2010.
If Paramore were to have these concerts, one would definitely be in Auckland, and possibly Christchurch. There's a chance that they may play at the Vector Arena in Auckland. Paramore are pretty popular in New Zealand, and the Fueled by Ramen bands (P!ATD, Hey Monday, AAR, FOB) have tried out in the Vector if I remember correctly, though they haven't gone out completely well due to its large size only selling half. (P!ATD...)
What I say is all pure guesswork though. If I find out more, I'll let you know.
I had the most full on day yesterday. Cause I have finished high school.
I didn't cry, I didn't feel sad...for some reason, it was just an amazing and fun day.
I don't feel like I've finished.
Classes were a bit of a ...ehh. hahah. in Photography/Study, our small little group were partying it up loud (while I was sewing on the straps of my grad dress....hahah). Last assembly was loud. Beach was awesome (depsite cops.) and Grad Dinner just TOPPED everything off.
Its just really hard to believe that in the place where I've dedicated 5 years of my life to, the place where I've spent hundreds of hours working, playing, hanging out with people, going from class to class, and talking with teachers...that it's all over.
Maybe its the fact that I live so close to the school and I know I'm going back. Cause I'm gonna be one of THOSE people that just doesn't leave. ahhahaha.
To all the friends I've made, all the students at the school, all the teachers that have been awesome to me, thank you SO much. I will never forget it :P
More specifically, NCEA can bite me. You read all the resources on different Visual Art scholarships, look at the marker comments, and comparing them all has made me realise NCEA Art Scholarship markers know squat.
How can someone have a strong proposal that knows "what its doing from board one", yet have it "constantly changing" as a major strength?
Anyway, been another hectic week. stuff indeed has been crazy. Art deadlines and school internal assessments due. And I've spent the couple of weeks being coma-ed out on the couch for no reason other than exhaustion.
<< Infact, I got a blood test the other day to make sure I wasn't getting sick from something else... 4 times they stuck the needle in me to try and draw out blood. I mean the usual is about 2-3 times. FOUR times. And a sore left arm cause I have to "pump" my left hand open and close to try and get blood flowing. It is no fault on their part. I've always had "unsuitable veins" cause of my excema and the fact that I have an incredibly low blood pressure (which is enough for blood to stop flowing in my vein the first time they stuck the needle in me apparently...) But now they say I shouldn't donate blood cause they wouldn't want to do that if I take that long. So I may never learn what blood type I am...Which has always been a mystery to me.
Also, I got told I don't sleep enough of the recommended 8-10 hours. Like I really have 8-10 hours to sleep, other than Saturday.
But anyway, now I've almost got all my work done (I've got 8 pages of scholarship photography to do by Tuesday. *eep*), I can at least sleep in a little tomorrow, get all this scholarship stuff done over the weekend, and then school ends Tueday 11:50am.
To know that me, being in the "Class of 2009" and that its almost finished...a little scary. Lately, the whole fact that I'm leaving school hasn't completely dawned on me since I've been so preoccupied with so many deadlines (spending two thirds of my day in the photography room.)
Now...it's still all a little unreal.
Part of me feels the need to crack this out haha.
Though I think I'm quite the opposite of this song lol. Anyway, just a quick update. Still need to finish work. Oh, and I'm still needing a summer job. So if anyone is hiring in the Auckland region...would be sweet to get a job or something... I'll work New Years. Trust me, I'm that desperate.
This site (professional studio) has before and after shots of celebs that they have all "touched up". But really, where is the line drawn that it is too unreal? Click on PORTFOLIO, then click the images. Hover over them to see before (the orignal photo) and after (all ridiculously touched up).
Makes me feel a little better. Finally, real people DO exist.
